Month: November 2005

  • Played cards last night at Scott’s. I felt better about the way I
played last night compared to how I have played the past few months. In
    the 1st game, I was 6th out of 8th. The 2nd game, I was 4th out of 8th
(one place out of money). I did fairly well in that game. The last game
though, I lasted for all of 2 hands. TWO FUCKING HANDS!!! I have such a
sour taste in my mouth from my last hand in that game and the 2nd game
of the night, I, of course, thought about both games the whole ride
home. I will be playing tonight with my cousin, so it will give me a
chance to get right back out there and forget about those
hands……….or, get frustrated all over again.

So, Bush went on the attack against his critics about the war. What an
ass. I wonder what things will be like in another year for him. Will he
still be in office? Will he have had a nervous breakdown? He seems
ready to lose it, from what they are saying and just looking at his
demeanor and attitude. He also looks like shit. He looks like he has
aged about 10 years since the election. I wonder if he is sitting there
saying to himself “man, I wish I didn’t get re-elected.” And, it looks
like things are only going to get worse and worse. For example, the
baptist at work who voted for Bush last year says that he now believes
Bush to be the worst president in the last 40 years. He also said that
he was very critical of Clinton with the whole Monica thing, but even
he admits now that at least when Clinton lied, it didn’t have this
effect on the world. Where were these people last year? If they had
seen this then, this fuck-up could have been held accountable for his
actions and things wouldn’t be nearly as bad as they are now. Sure,
Kerry was a pretty big slimeball and a weasel. But, he wouldn’t have
fucked up to the extent that Bush has. Is it too late to have a recall
election? Bush’s approval rating is a pathetic (and well-deserved) 37%.
Among blacks, it is 2%! That is so low, its downright laughable. I
mean, 2%. Think about this for a second. 98% of blacks do not like him.
If Katrina had happened last year, Kerry would have won in a landslide.
But, enough about what could of happened or what did happen. The sad
fact of the matter is, Bush is president.

Ever since I bought Green Day’s American Idiot, I can’t get enough of
it. I have tried not listening to it, but the songs are stuck in my
head. The funny part is that 10 years ago, I hated Green Day. But, this
album is just so good and I agree with so much of it, that I just love
it. Its so political. I agree with so many of the bands religious and
political beliefs. They might even be more anti-Bush than I am. Its
great. And, young people are listening to it and agreeing with it. Now,
if only those young people had more power.

Did you all hear about the 18 year old kid that won an election to be
mayor of his town in Michigan? Letterman had a top 10 list about it,
    here it is:

Top Ten Good Things About Being An 18-Year-Old
    Mayor

    10. “Parents try to tell me what to do, I raise their taxes”

    9. “Every night, a different member of The
    town council does my homework”

    8. “It’s every teen’s dream: The
    power to reguLate
    zoning laws”

    7. “Goodbye, education budget — Hello, brand new X-box”

    6. “I got a call from Demi Moore”

    5. “Trying to get The
city hall on an episode of ‘MTV Cribs’”

    4. “I don’t have to wait in line at Applebee’s anymore”

    3. “School bullies now have to deal with The
    Feds”

    2. “Only victory speech featuring The
    word ‘Dude’”

    1. “It’s flattering when President Bush calls me

  • Fuck. Not enough time to make a real post and will be busy losing my
money at cards on Friday night AND Saturday night. I will make a post
over the weekend…………but, don’t keep hanging on for another
post, I’m sure the next post will be dull and about as interesting as
    watching a cat lick himself.

  • I went to work today all excited about my new clothes combo of black
shirt, tan pants, and black shoes. I was disappointed and upset to find
out that the baptist was wearing THE EXACT SAME THING right down to the
damn shoes and belt. What the fuck man? I spent my entire childhood
being dressed alike (or at least being bought the EXACT same clothes)
and it sucks to have to deal with it as an adult. Fortunately, the
    baptist is a very……….how should I say……..he is a man of
generous proportions, so is not like people confused us.

Wow, what lovely spring weather we…………wait a minute, its not
fucking spring!!! Its November!!! Why am I hearing rumbles of thunder
in the distance and getting alerts of tornado watches and storms? I’m
sitting here in shorts and a t-shirt (its almost 10PM and still 62
    degrees out), shouldn’t I be cold? I guess I shouldn’t complain. After
all, the less we have to use our heat, the less our gas bills will be.

  • I got in a very interesting conversation today at work about religion.
Great, just what you are never supposed to talk about at work. We
started talking about a tornado and how a baby survived it. This one
lady said it was a miracle. I said I didn’t agree with that, but that
it was probably due to a strong wall. You know, I used logic. This one
guy, who is a pretty dedicated Baptist, said that he doesn’t think God
intervenes in things such as tornados, but instead has control over
diseases. He said that the reason why there are diseases is because of
sin, if there was no original sin, there would be no disease. I asked
how that could possibly be the case, since animals don’t sin and yet
they still get diseases. His answer to this was because of the Garden
of Eden when the original sin was committed (if you believe this sort
    of
whohaa) it meant that it opened up sin and disease to every living
thing. Realizing that this did not make a damn bit of sense, I asked
him why animals died before this so called “original sin”. His answer,
and I’m not making this up was “well, how do you know animals died
before then? There was no sin before, so therefore there was no death.
Animals did not die before there was original sin.” See, this is why
religion is stupid. How can they expect even an idiot to believe this
sorta shit. Anywho, I asked him how could this possibly be since there
were dinosaurs before man and, well, with the exception of Marlon
Brando, (ok, that was cold) there have not been any dinosaurs since man
has walked the earth. He sorta danced around the question by implying
that there was no proof of dinosaurs. I challenged him on this by
saying there is no proof that there was a God. This other lady, who had
been listening to the whole conversation, said to me “Are you crazy?
What do you mean there is no proof, there is all sorts of proof.” Ok,
did I miss something? As far as I know, there is no overwhelming
evidence of any God, the whole thing is based on blind faith. I
mentioned this to her and she said “well, of course its based on faith,
but how do you think we all got here?”

Now, I don’t know if any of you were reading a couple of months back
when I wrote about (Tuesday, Sept 27, 2005 if you want to go back and
read) a guy at work that has been trying to hook me up with this girl
at work. I was hoping that he would not get wind of this conversation,
but lo and behold, he came walking up in the middle of what now was an
all out discussion on evolution and creation………or the new, hip
term to try to make it sound smart, “intelligent design.” Now, I forgot
to mention, he is a born again Christian, so as one might expect, he
doesn’t exactly agree with me. He starts saying that “so, if God didn’t
put us here, how did we get here? What, you think we evolved from
rocks? How can we evolve from rocks?” I just sorta laughed it off, but
when I think about it, it really pissed me off. He was essentially
mocking me. These damn Christians, they are so fucking arrogant, which
is funny, since nothing they say, and I mean nothing, is based on fact.
Its all based on blind faith. I have the backing of logic and science,
all they have is blind fucking faith……….oh, and the belief of 95%
of the world. Hmmmm. Maybe thats were they get their arrogance?
Nevertheless, I think I succeeded in getting him to stop trying to hook
me up with the girl, but now, of course, he will try hooking me up with
God. Something funny, as I was writing this, I heard a promo that the
local CBS station is going to have a segment on miracles about the
Virgin Mary. How can people just suspend all reasonable common sense
and logic. I have no problem with tv stations airing this stuff, after
all, it is their right. But, what about professional integrity? How can
something so ridiculous get time on the news? Its because an
overwhelming majority of people believe this sort of thing. Can the
world really be this gullible? How can something like this have
credibility and yet UFOs and aliens be laughed off and dismissed like
its bullshit? I mean, I’m not convinced that UFOs have been here, but I
believe there is other life out there, it makes a hell of a lot more
sense than a God in the sky pulling strings and controlling everybody.

After the born again left, I sat there talking with the Baptist and a
Catholic. Man, this sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. The
Catholic is very liberal and open-minded. After a while, the topic
turned to gays. The Baptist said, as you might expect, he doesn’t agree
with the gay lifestyle. The Catholic was very supportive of gays. The
Baptist said that he wouldn’t have a gay friend; he would not allow
himself to become to close to a gay person. Of course, he does not know
that I am gay. We have hung out a couple of times outside of work; in
fact, I’m in his fantasy football league and we even chat every now and
then. But, this pissed me off and pretty much insured that he and I
would not become better friends. The reality is, that this thought
process is just as bad as somebody that is racist, and therefore, not
the quality of the type of person I would want to surround myself with.

  • All right, I’m very disappointed in you people. You were all supposed
to help me find out what shoes go best with my pants and shirt. Now,
I’m going to have to go to work not wearing a shirt!!!

Thursday at Clem’s, Marsha actually showed up. I don’t know her all
that well, in fact, it has been, shit, at least 5 years since I have
seen her. But, anywho, she and I talked for a long time while everybody
else did whatever it was they were doing. She told me she had a falling
out with Toby and I told her I had a falling out with Jt. She asked me
what my falling out was about and I told her I would tell her
everything if she told me the Toby situation. Her story was pretty
simple and quick. I don’t know if she knew what she was getting herself
into when she asked me, but I gave her the WHOLE story. She was cool
    with it and very accepting.

Speaking of accepting, I did get an email back from Dae and Jean, they
were very supportive of me, saying they didn’t care if I was gay. This,
of course, makes me feel very good.

As for non-acceptance, did you all hear about the reception Bush got
during the summit of Americas in Argentina? Whooaaa, daddy, they don’t
like him down there. Bush looks so downtrodden in recent weeks. Not
that I’m complaining. Its his own incompetence and lack of morality
that is coming back to bite him. Right now, he has the look of a man
that is completely miserable and totally unhappy with his life. I know
how he can make himself happy again. Resign.

Last night, we had dinner at Mark & Amy’s house. Ever play the game
Boggle? Turns out I suck at it. Bad. Really really bad. We also played
another fun game called “Imagine if” which I really enjoyed and did
    much better at.

Got my haircut today. The lady person that cuts my hair showed me how
to style it differently since my hair sucks. This story has no point.

Did you guys know that they make Chocolate cigars? I knew they made
flavored cigars and had heard rumors of chocolate cigars, but didn’t
actually see them until I bought some today. I’m saving them for
Thanksgiving, Dave and I always smoke stogies after dinner, this should
really get me in the mood for desert.

Anywho, I’m gonna post some more pics now that are random and from many events. Enjoy them if you want.

This is a pic of my cousin, my brothers, Addison and I from our bday party.

    Dave making some shots.

This shirt kicks ass. Royal ass.

    Another bday pic

This is Mistey. Her dad died last weekend.

Mark and I from New Year’s eve last year.

  • All the critics agree, America does not need more Rocky or Rambo
movies. In fact, Roger Ebert has publically stated that “if these
movies get made, I’m leaving America and joining Al Qada.” Richard
Roeper says “These movies would be the worst thing to happen to America
since herpes.” And Rex Reed says “Mike, if you dare make up shit about
me the way you did about those other 2 fucks, I’m gonna tear the
testicles from your scrotum and re-circumcise you.”

Big news people!!! I have found out recently that black and tan
match!!!! Because of this new found excitement, I’m going to throw a
black shirt-tan pants combo into my weekly rotation. Keith and Heather
first told me it matches over the weekend and then people at work today
told me it matches too. The only debate now, is the shoes. Some people
say black shoes, others say brown shoes. This is where you come in,
please tell me what matches best. Man, I am starting to get really good
at this whole gay thing. Maybe in a couple of years, I can start
    dressing myself!!!

The Bulls opened the season tonight and although I expect a good season
from them, they have looked awful in this first game so far. And to
make matters even worse, Kirk Hinrich just hurt his ankle. I just never
expected them to get their asses handed to them by the Charlotte
Bobcats, after all, they are a 2nd year team! There is no reason why
they should be losing this badly to a team that is younger then Keith
and Heather’s 18 month old son. As for the rest of the NBA, who knows
who is going to win. I have to think the Heat and Spurs are going to be
very strong, but my big suprise team is Cleveland. Lebron James is just
so fucking good and now he has Larry Hughes on his team. Look out.

So, Bush made his pick for the Supreme Court earlier this week, and it
was far worse than we could have imagined. This guy is EXTREMELY
conservative. And, he is Catholic. If confirmed, it will, GULP, give us
5 Catholics on the Supreme Court. As a recovering former Catholic, this
is frightening. Then again, any hardcore religious person is scary,
    this
country could get very………..restrictive in a hurry. Although I’m
not surprised at his choice, I’m still disappointed in his choice and
hope he does not get confirmed. What ever happened to chosing a
moderate to replace another moderate? And what about selecting another
female to replace Sandra Day O’Connor? Of course, this choice has
excited the conservative right. I just hope the Democrats at least put
up a good fight for this one. The thing about Democrats, is that they
are such pussies. Well, they need to wake the fuck up and do something
    about this.

I came out to my friend’s Dae and Jean last night. It was in an email.
I explained to them why Jt and I aren’t friends anymore. So far, I
haven’t gotten an email back, so I don’t know how they took it. They
are pretty open-minded and Dae is an Atheist (I’m pretty sure he
is…….he has issues with religions) so I think they would be ok with
it, but I’m still a little worried about it. I’m not nearly as close
with them as I once was, like back when we were roadies for him, so if
they do not accept it, it would hurt, but I could get over it. Still, I
believe they will be fully accepting of it and welcome me with open
arms. We really don’t see them all to often, at this point, its pretty
much only once or twice a year. In fact, we haven’t seen them since
last year’s friends Thanksgiving, but I hope we start seeing them more
    often, they are good people.

Former Cub Matt Lawton tested positive for steroids. This is a
disappointment, since I have always liked him, but the thing I’m
impressed with is that he didn’t blame anybody and took full
responsibility, unlikes just about everybody else that tested positive.

As I write this, the Bulls are in the process of coming back. They have
cut what was once a 23 point deficit to 10. Still a long way to go with
not a lot of time, but who knows. Now its a 7 point deficit. Ohhhhhh.

I’m posting this little paragraph after watching the rest of the game.
Don’t I feel like a fucking asshole, the Bulls came back and won in OT.
They trailed by as much as 25 points including 21 going into the 4th
quarter and came back and won. WOW!!!
