Just when I started to fully believe in the Cubs, they go and blow one
today. Although, its only a minor setback (hopefully), it still stings.
It might not be a big loss if the Giants lose today, but damnit, it
would have been a nice game to have. One can point fingers at the
bullpen (Dempster and Hawkins really blew it in the 9th, and Merker in
the 11th, but shit, Merker has pitched great all year, at least when he
is not calling the pres box), and they should get their fair share, but
the Cubs really failed in the 8th when they had a chance to break
things open. They just have to go and get them tomorrow.
