  • I watched Saved tonight. I like it. It wasn’t as funny as I thought it
was going to be, but I still enjoyed it. I know its just a movie, but
it really made me think. There was one line that Jenna Malone had that
was really good, and it was something like this “If God wanted us all
to be the same, than why did he make us all so different.” As usual,
I’m over analyzing here, but its what I do. In a way, it frustrated me,
because it shows how much suffocating and hating religon is. One of the
characters in the movie is gay, and when his parents find out, they
send him to a christian, I guess mental hospital, to cure him of his
gayness (is that even a word, gayness?). The sad part there, is that
there are places out there like that, and there are people that believe
that people can be cured of homosexuality, which obviously is not true.
Instead, it forces the person to supress who they really are and have
it reinforced that they are evil and going to hell because they are gay
and the only way to change that is to “become straight.” Its no wonder
why gay Christian teens kill themselves. They have nobody to turn to
and feel there is no way out. They become, in a way, victims of
    Christianity. Why does
religon have to do that? Why does it suppress and create hate?

Also in the movie, Jenna Malone’s character gets knocked up and she is
shunned because of it as well. Again, makes for a good movie, but there
are people out there like this. This is why teens force abortion on
themselves, because Christian parents are too out of touch with reality
and too worried about the child sinning and whatnot to help the girl,
or to even see that what the girl needs now is help, and not to be
chastized and shunned because she sinned. She is ashamed of what she
has done, and can not turn to anybody for help. Can not turn to who
should be the most important people in her life, her parents, the
people that should love and support her regardless. And she can’t go to
the doctor. So, a pregnant Christian teen does her own abortion,
damaging and causing serious problems to herself. Of course, the whole
pregnancy could be avoided if Christian parents didn’t have their heads
in the sand and preach that sex is wrong, instead of teaching
    responsible, safe sex.

Mandy Moore’s character is an exaggeration of a person that we all
know: The bible-toting maniac. She is constantly praying for people
that they “find Jesus and become saved.” Again, this is sad. It also
really shows how Christians, especially born again, are just all part
of a cult. Born agains have that weird look in their eyes, its the same
look that the Davidians and the Heaven’s Gate people have. They are
addicted to Jesus. They have a problem with Jes-ahol. Just like people
can become addicted to alcohol, drugs and other things, you can become
addicted to religon in a very unhealthy way. Look, your religon might
work for you, and might be the right one for you, but it might not be
right for me, and I can make that decision on my own, I certainly don’t
need you to pray for me to “see the light and be saved”. No need to
shove it down my throat. I still say I will live any religon for a
week, as long as you live my religon for a week……………then
again, I guess mine is more of a way of thinking and I guess its sorta
hard for somebody to just stop believing for a week. All this from a
movie. I swear, I’m not this serious of a person, but it just got me
    thinking about things .

Oh, and Macaulay Culkin, Patrick Fugit, and Chad Faust (he was the gay
kid) were all very hot in the movie, especially the gay
kid…………ohhhhh there are scenes of him
swimming…………rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had to watch that scene
    twice……………YUUUUMMMMMYYY!!!
