  • I watched some of that Jordan DVD Mark got me for Christmas tonight. It
really made me think a lot of the glory days. Even though I’m not a
huge Jordan fan, its still good and I am a fan of Jordan, the player. I
know as a person, he is somewhat of a dick. The way he has ruined the
good name of the Bulls since he left them. He also was a bitch of a
teammate and the way he treated Jerry Krause was very shameful. All
that being said, he was one hellva a fucking player. Amazing. Whenever
I hear the song “Take my Breath away” I always think of him (no, I am
not attracted to him at all). He is Babe Ruth. He is Ali. I will tell
my kids that I saw him play. And the fact that he played in Chicago,
well, that makes it even more special. I just remember growing up
watching him and saying at the time “I can’t believe he plays for my
favorite team” and knowing very well I was watching something I would
never see again. Imagine, a Chicago team winning 6……….count them,
SIX championships in 8 years. I always just tried to appreciate it at
the time, knowing it would never happen again. I remember being in the
backyard playing and trying to be like him and how everybody wanted to
be like him. And after “the move” in the ’91 finals and all of us
trying, and failing miserably (and almost hurting ourselves in the
process) to duplicate that move. And just watching him glide through
the air, it was like………….well, it was just poetry in motion.
When you see those highlights, watch his legs, the way they move is
amazing. And time and time again, he would come through for the Bulls.
And Chicago being the envy of every other NBA city. As you know, I
still love the Bulls and watch them all the time. Although, the past 6
years have been very tough to watch, I’m always very loyal. I want to
watch them come to prominance once again, although it will probably
never be 6 titles in 8 years, I hope for just one.
