I remember now what I was going to write about. So, now is Lent. It
reminds me of the one year when I decided to give up Catholicism for
Lent. Turns out, I gave it up permanently. See, I think its crazy that
people give up something for Lent. As if giving up something for 40
days is somehow equivalent to what Jesus did (assuming his story checks
out, I’m still waiting for my fact finders to get back to me). I think,
if one was serious about it, they would give whatever it is up
permanently, my thinking is that you should use that time to make you a
better person, and Lent would be a good excuse to find your flaws and
fix them. See, that is where once again, the hypocrisy of the
Catholic religion comes in. Give up a sin during Lent, but its ok to do
it again after Lent. Eating meat on Fridays during Lent is a sin, but
ok the rest of the year. It doesn’t make sense, especially since eating
meat on any Friday used to be a sin. Then again, trying to figure out
the Catholic religion is kinda like trying to solve a rubix cube or like
trying to understand women: its scientifically impossible.
