  • Twins ‘Til The End

I read this article on Yahoo about these 92 year old twin friars who died on the same day. Just think about how rare and amazing that is; being born and dying on the same day. Hell it’s pretty rare to be born on the same day as somebody, besides my twin brother I know only one other person born the same day as me. But to die on the same day and not in like a car accident or something like that, well, just what are the odds of that?

I guess it was fitting that these two died on the same day. The article went on to say that they died the same way: heart failure within hours of each other. In addition to choosing the same career, one had a bad left eye the other had a bad right eye. They had separate rooms at the friary but had only one phone line. Oh, and they each had five sisters! Imagine that one.

I tried to upload a picture of them but Xanga is being difficult. I think they are identical but you can tell the difference between them. Not like my twin brother and I. Just look, here is a picture of him and then a picture of me:

    Me

Oh, I’m sure the friars have some of the same kind of pictures of themselves. People always ask me what it’s like to be a twin. I tell them to mind their own fucking  business. See, I am the evil twin. But, as you can CLEARLY see from the pictures above, I’m also the good looking twin. People also ask if we can feel each others pain; in other words if you hit  him will I feel it. My answer to that is fuck no, but you should probably hit him in the face just to make sure.

It is not to say that we aren’t a like in some ways. We are both male and both have the same last name. We also both really love a good time and if you have the opportunity to hang out with either one of us, you will certainly be in for a good time. And we both love sports. I guess there might be some other things that we have in common, but honestly, do you really care?

Of course, now he has his own set of twins, a boy and a girl so he can go through the same bullshit that we put our mom through. And the best part about it is that I can sit back and watch from afar and laugh at it all. Or, even better yet, I can do things to make things worse for him!

  • So I’m guessing twins run in your family then?

You guys look alike, but you look a lot darker then he is. I’ve always been jealous of twins…I would LOVE to have a twin sister. Always having each other there through everything. Especially as a kid….having someone to play with! ;)

  • Twins actually don’t run in my very big extended family. My brother’s set was actually only the 3rd set on both my mom’s and dad’s side including him and I. Having a twin is cool but can be tough sometimes. He and I actually went three years without talking to each other in our early 20s. And still to this, people confuse us, even family. And I don’t mean like confuse our names, but actually walk up to me (or him) and ask which one we are. This is family and people we went to high school with. Still, I think I’m glad I was born a twin; certainly more positives than negatives.

  • Your twin had twins…wow! So i guess if some woman wants your sperm and you’re willing to donate, she better prepare for twins!

  • yep, my brother had twins, don’t you remember the picture I posted of me and him and his twins? I wonder if I can upload that picture here in my comment? No, doesn’t look like it. Oh well.

  • Hi. I came from Grtt’s site. I’ve always seen you there but for some reason never wandered over! I was a twin, but he/she was lost before coming full term. My dad was a fraternal twin. I always wished my twin would’ve lived. I was pretty lonely as a child. My mom once asked me if I ever “missed” my twin… I thought it an odd question. I guess I could blame some of my unhappiness as a child on that, but I think it had more to do with my environment, not a missing half… but it still would’ve been cool to have a twin (I think).

  • I always wanted a twin, hah. But the few twins I knew growing up were all like ‘it blows, you’re never alone.’ Of course, that was when we were like 12.

  • yeah, I think overall it was cool to have a twin. I really should do another post about it.

  • well, we shared a bedroom until we were about 15, so, we were never alone, which sucked, if you know what I mean. Overall though, having a twin is cool.
